How it works:
To set the Personal, Original or Large Time Timer, move the red disc counterclockwise to the desired time interval. The disc diminishes as time elapses until no red is visible on the timer face. The disc may be moved clockwise or counterclockwise without harming the mechanism, however gentle handling will prolong the life of the timer.
Time Timers come in three sizes and a CD version to fit almost every application. Whether you are concerned primarily with time management or with teaching the principle of elapsed time, you will find a Time Timer to meet your need.
Improving your home and work life
In the workplace and at home, time management is crucial. Being on time, meeting deadlines and maximizing accomplishments are all functions of good time management. The Time Timer products help make the passage of time obvious and tangible whether you are in a group or individual situation. Applications in the office and at home include instances when you want to set a time limit for an activity and when you want to measure progress against time. For example, Time Timers can be used to:
• Time seminars, meetings, panel discussions and presentations
• Quantify time left before appointments and deadlines
• Monitor break time
• Manage progress toward goals and agenda items
• Oversee skills tests
• Regulate study time, computer time and play time
• Measure "time out"
Making classrooms more effective
In a teaching situation, no other tool communicates the concept of elapsed time as well as the Time Timer. Used as an interactive teaching tool, this classroom-tested teaching aid reinforces the sense of elapsed time with a graphic depiction of the time remaining. Other teaching aids emphasize only what time looks like as a static number or a position on a clock face. The Time Timer can be used to set time limits, measure the duration of activities and train students to make better use of available time. Use the Time Timer products to:
• Time standardized tests
• Monitor math and writing speed tests
• Measure study periods and lunch periods
• Regulate computer time
• Administer duration drills
• Show time left to play, get ready or clean up
